What motivated you to really learn Creole?
I have been to visit friends in Haiti five times and try to learn more Creole each year so that I can communicate better when I am not with a translator.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to learn Haitian Creole?
It’s not a difficult language, but takes time to ‘grow’ on you; some of the letter signs and contractions are difficult to master.
What’s been the biggest benefit for you personally since learning to communicate in Creole?
Thinking in Creole, even as I go about my daily life in the US.
