What motivated you to really learn Creole?
I saw a lot of Haitians using social services in Orlando and the lack of Creole speakers working in social services.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to learn Haitian Creole?
Pay attention to the details; a lot is communicated in small words.
What’s been the biggest benefit for you personally since learning to communicate in Creole?
Personally, I feel like I’ve accomplished something. Learning a new language is hard and takes time, but I’ve stuck to it and feel proud of myself for doing it. People are always surprised when I say I speak some Creole!
