What motivated you to really learn Creole?
I wanted to be able to communicate on some level with the Haitian culture.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to learn Haitian Creole?
It’s confusing, but the more repetitive you are, the easier it will be.
What’s been the biggest benefit for you personally since learning to communicate in Creole?
I’m so excited to be able to understand some of the conversation, even if I can’t totally keep up. I love my translators, but I feel speaking some of the native language is important and shows you have a genuine interest and care!
