What motivated you to really learn Creole?
I wanted to be able to communicate more easily with my adopted sons.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to learn Haitian Creole?
Take the HaitiHub foundation, then apply it to immersing yourself in whatever you can. Haitian Creole music, videos, movies, native speakers, whatever you can find.
What’s been the biggest benefit for you personally since learning to communicate in Creole?
I cannot place a value on the ability to communicate with our sons without relying on someone else to translate throughout this complicated adoption process.
