What motivated you to really learn Creole?
I longed to be able to communicate with the Haitian people, letting them know that we are family.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to learn Haitian Creole?
Be diligent in study and use whatever you learn; the people LOVE to help you when you try to speak Creole.
What’s been the biggest benefit for you personally since learning to communicate in Creole?
Each time I go to Haiti and can speak a little more Creole, my relationship with the people deepens. They become more comfortable with me, and we view each other as friends!!
